Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors; ensure you're alerted before it's too late.

Drain water heater; helps the lifespan of your water heater.

Inspect plumbing, check for leaks, turn outside hose bibs back on.

Replace furnace filter; ensure efficiency.
Fall/Winter:

Check HVAC system filters and clean coil; helps lifespan of HVAC system.

Winterize pipes; insulate pipes in unheated areas to prevent freezing and bursting.

Turn outside hose bibs off.

Seal cracks; look for gaps around windows and doors and seal them to prevent heat loss.

Clean gutters; ensure proper flow and prevent clogs.
